I joined the SISSA PhD program in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2021. Currently I am working on “human perceptual decision making of nonequilibrium fluctuations” under supervision of Domenica Bueti, and co-supervision by Mathew Diamond. I am interested in understanding the adaptation of decision parameters to the stochastic sensory signal in stimuli to make optimal decisions. In order to investigate this I conduct behavioral experiments with human participants and develop computational models. More specifically, thanks to our collaboration with statistical physicist Edgar Roldan and his group, we define the statistical properties of the stimulus based on the quantification of the heat dissipation, and this led us to form strong connections between stimulus dynamics and decision outcomes.
