Aybüke Durmaz

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at SISSA (since 2021), where I conduct my research within the Time Perception Lab and the SENSEx Lab, in collaboration with the Stochastic Thermodynamics and Biophysics Group at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). My doctoral work focuses on modeling perceptual decision-making through psychophysics and human behavioral experiments, with a particular interest in how decision mechanisms relate to stimulus dynamics from a statistical-physics perspective. Before starting my PhD, I completed a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science at CIMeC – the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences at the University of Trento, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul.
